Crazy Cajun Cuisine

Time for a real recipe! This will be a new family favorite! It was just enough for the two of us, and was sooooooo good! It was definitely a stretch for both hubby and myself. I’m not a fan of spice, my hubby isn’t a fan of veggies. This had a lot of both!

Shrimp and Sausage Skillet

  • Old Bay Seasoning
  • Sausage
  • 1/2 Dozen Shrimp
  • 1/2 Zucchini
  • 1/2 Yellow Squash
  • 1/4 Yellow Onion
  • 1 Red Bell Pepper
  • 2 Cloves of Garlic

First things first, (I’m the realist) you need Old Bay Seasoning.

I did not have that. So I made my own!

Old Bay Seasoning

Equal Parts:

  • Pepper
  • Garlic Salt
  • Paprika
  • Thyme
  • Oregano
  • Chili Powder

Mix all together and set aside for later!

If your sausage is raw (giggity), cook that thing up first. Cook for 6 minutes on each side, add 1/2C water and let steam for 10-12 minutes. Cut into medallions and make sure it’s cooked all the way through!

Set aside, and in the same pan, combine some of the Old Bay with the shrimpies and cook until opaque.

Cut yo-self some veggies!

(This is a million times easier if you do this before you cook the protein btw)

Now, pay attention. This is where it gets tricky.

  1. Add onions and peppers to oil and cook for 2 minutes
  2. Add in zucchini, squash, and sausage and cook for 2 minutes
  3. Add garlic and shrimp and cook for 2-4 minutes
  4. Get stared at by a bubble blowing diaper baby

And you’re done! Season with red pepper flakes, and salt/pepper to taste!


Hubby informed me that it was very good…


He thinks it would be better to have the peppers and onions chopped smaller, so it fits better into bites. I call this one a success!
