Remember how I said I love to cook? Well strap in, it’s time for another half-assed recipe! On the menu for today:
Ham and Cheese Sliders
Now, normally for this recipe, you’ll need:
- Hawaiian rolls
- Dijon mustard
- Worcester sauce
- Onion powder
- Poppy seeds
I did not have those things. I had this.
And also a very judgement Sous Chef
So, I used what I had!
First, you want to slice the bread in half, and place it on some greased tinfoil (learned this the hard way, it sticks like crazy).
Then I mixed 1/2 a stick of melted butter with one TBS of the mustard and Worcester sauce. And mixed it up until it looks like a diaper your kid had that one time. Then you lather it on the bottom of the bread. You’re supposed to let it soak for 20 mins, but really, who has that kind of time.
Then comes the fun part, ham and cheese! Now they say to do a layer of ham/cheese/ham. But what’s the fun in that? So I did ham/cheese/ham/cheese/ham. Because, why not. And you’ll have just enough left for one sandwich for your husband!
And I was promptly judged again by my Sous Chef.
Then you add the rest of the goo to the top
And wrap it up and pretend it’s vegetables
She thought that was funny
And cook for 20 mins at 350° covered, and then for 5-10 mins uncovered. Until it looks good enough to you.
Looks good enough to me! But again, I will not be eating it hot. Because someone needed to nurse RIGHT. NOW.
